At Times

To bring my mind under subjection is painstakingly difficult at times, because of the non-essential, extra curricular activities around me, which stimulate my mind, while the physical body desires fun and the needs of this life.

It is easier for some individuals to discipline themselves to rest their mind from the cares of life and just relax in God, while others fight a battle both emotionally and intellectually to take time out for God.

Not all people are alike.  God made each of us unique.  We are who we are; a wonderful example of His handiwork with differences of opinion, personalities, and having varying drives and emotions.  We are each formed in His image and likeness.

All in all, what one person may struggle with, another person doesn’t.  We each have our strong and weak points to contend with.  God understands this and provides grace that is sufficient enough for all personalities of His making.

While one person’s mind, for whatever reason, labors to open itself to what God has for them, another person thrives in His presence.  Does God love that person more so than He does the other?  I think not.  God loves them equally.  He deals with each in His own special way just as parents deal differently with each of their children, because of differing personalities.

As I attempt to write, at times a feeling overshadows my thinking and chokes my creative writing skills.  It says to me that there is nothing left to be said—I have said it all, because of the many writings that I have already published—what else is there to write about?  Some call it, “Writer’s block.”

It is then I stop and recognize that God is infinite and that He has ideas and words of encouragement to share with me every day of my life if I take the time to listen and write down what He is speaking.  I believe that His desire is that others will glean from my writings and garner to themselves food for thought as they read them.  This is certainly my desire and prayer.

It is up to the individual whether or not they discover the finer points in life by allowing Jesus to be Lord of all.  Life is too short to try and live it on our own without help and direction from above.

At times it feels as if God is afar off, whereas, I know that He isn’t, because His Word says otherwise.  It is only my mind seeing through natural eyes rather than allowing spiritual insight to broaden itself to see past the blinders that Satan places in front of me.

(Hebrews 13:5-6), “…For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ ” vs.6 “So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?’ ”

At times when words seem to evade my thought process, I bow my head and ask, “What do you have for me today, Lord?”  At times like these the breakthrough is always thrilling.  I cannot write fast enough to keep up with the clarity of thought that is filling my mind.

I never know the fullness of the views and ideas that He gives until I have written the last word in the writing.  It is exciting what God’s inspiration holds in store for those that listen to His voice as He speaks.

I had some cards printed that I give to people wherever I go.  Among the words that make up the cards are three words that express my heart, “God Inspired Writings.”  I want people to know when they go to my blog and read my writings that I believe the words are inspired by the Holy Spirit as I waited before God for inspiration.   The Bible scriptures that I share are most definitely inspired by God.

At times I go back and read some of my writings and am amazed at the content and how they move me, because I know my limitations as a writer.  When I read them, tears fill my eyes and my spirit is touched through the words that I read.  The Holy Spirit speaks to my heart and reconfirms our relationship with each other.

I believe the key to communicating with God is learning how to take time out of our busy schedule and find a place where one on one communion can take us to greater heights and deeper depths of spiritual awareness in Him.  It takes just doing it.  As we aspire to have a closer, personal encounter, it becomes easier to open our mind to His voice as He speaks to our soul.

There is always room to grow in Christ.  No-one has reached the apex of perfection.  We should all strive for the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus, whereas, this comes through prayer, reading the Bible, and allowing God to perfect us.  Listening to what the Lord has to say brings enlightenment and clarity of our position in Him.

At times when you need Him the most are the times, without fail, that Jesus comes to you and speaks peace to your heart, because His love is everlasting.  His peace is not as the world gives peace, but the peace that God gives surpasses our understanding—it is perfect peace.

(Philippians 4:6-7), “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” vs.7 “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
