Too Far Gone or a Lie

My dad would not tolerate me lying to him when I was a child growing up.  I learned early on that lying was indeed a ‘No-No’ with Dad, if you know what I mean.  I certainly didn’t make a practice of doing it.  Lies are of the devil and not fun in ‘the end’ when I was caught fibbing.  A fib is still a lie wrapped in toilet paper.

If anyone listens to the devil, the father of lies, they usually regret doing so.  He is the master deceiver and attempts to convince anyone who listens to his cunning words that his lies are truth.

Lies are something we can certainly do without, but the devil is relentless if we don’t do something about his antics.  He knows our weaknesses and capitalizes on them.

The devil is also known in the Bible as the serpent.  He has had much practice honing his skills of deception since the beginning of time.  In the Garden of Eden, he lied to Eve and deceived her.  Adam, then followed her sinful example and he too sinned.  Punishment followed.

The devil’s reputation and M.O. “modus operandi” precedes him.  We know his techniques and that he is sneaky, but detectable when we stay alert.  This makes it easier to sidestep his deceptive maneuvers and close our mind to him.

I recognize his characteristics, and I consider the source when negative thoughts come my way, such as, “Are you sure you’re a Christian?” or “How could God ever forgive your unforgivable sins?”  These are just more lies.

The devil will insist that we’ve gone too far down the wide road to destruction and there is no hope of ever being forgiven by God.  It’s nothing but lies.  We need to be like star kickers on football teams and kick this lying fraud and his tormenting thoughts to the curb when he tries to get into our head.

We can do this by disciplining our mind to think on something positive, rather than dwelling on disingenuous and criticizing rhetoric.  Rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus.  This really works!  There is all power in His name.

I’m sure everyone hates to be lied to, probably as much as my dad, but we can do something about it.  Simply refuse to listen to the devil’s blatant lies.

(James 4:7), “Therefore submit to God.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Jesus wants to become our Savior and Lord, while God desires to be our heavenly Father.  He made a way for us to experience, for ourselves, what it means to be born again.

God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die on a cross to pay the full price for our sins.  This is the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

I don’t know if you are in the valley of decision, but know this, if you were the only individual on earth to have sinned, Jesus died for you, because of agape love—a sacrificial, God love.

(1 John 1:9), “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Don’t listen to the devil’s lies when he whispers in your ear, “You’re not good enough.  There’s no hope for you.”  Just ask God to forgive your sins and turn from your sinful ways.  Believe the Bible.

(2 Corinthians 5:17), “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

(Matthew 11:28), “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

If you sincerely asked God to forgive your sins, believe this, you are a new creation, because of what Jesus did for you on the cross.  He is now your Savior!  You are now a child of God!  All the devil’s lies cannot change or nullify this fact, because your name is written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life, in heaven!

CONGRATULATIONS!  You have been born again!
