My mind does funny things when I try to imagine someone loving me with a never ending love no matter how badly that I treated them—loving me with a love so deep that it staggers the imagination. Before I was conceived in my mother’s womb, God looked through the corridor of time and saw me, He knew me, and loved me.
Even when I felt unlovable, God never ceased to love me. Though I lived a self-serving existence, not wanting God in my life, He still wanted me. Though I turned my back on Him, He never turned His on me.
My puzzled mind asked, “How could God consider loving a person like me?” His Word spoke loudly: “God is love.” Yet, I argued with questions: “What is so special about me? What have I done to merit God’s love?” Again God’s Word resounded: “Your righteousness is as filthy rags in My sight.” I then asked, “Why would you give righteousness for ungodliness, and light for darkness?” I heard these final words: “You do not deserve anything, but I give you everything. I will make you perfect in love—I give you Jesus!”
God loves each of us equally and provides the means through His Son Jesus that we might commune with Him as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden before they were driven out for disobeying God. No longer will Cherubims with flaming swords (Genesis ), tall barriers, or wide chasms separate us from His love, because of sin. We can be reunited with our Heavenly Father—reconciliation will take place.
God created us in His image and likeness (Genesis ), and desires to fellowship with us; to sup with whoever calls on His name. If we ask we will receive all that He is and all that He has to give. Merely believing God’s Word and that He raised Jesus from the dead for the remission of sins, we shall receive God’s forgiveness the moment we confess our sins.
(Romans 10:9-10), “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” vs.10 “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
God desires to shower us with excellence from His bountiful storehouse of blessings; riches beyond our wildest dreams or imagination—more than we are able to comprehend. It’s like trading nothingness for everything that’s good. God rewards those that diligently seek Him. We become joint heirs with Jesus Christ, and all that Heaven has to offer is ours when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Jesus gives life to the soul that asks for forgiveness. They are spiritually changed from a sin nature to a personality that wants to please God—corruptible to incorruptible. Old things pass away and all things become new. The old man is no more for the new man has received life. We become the sons and daughters of God the Righteous.
Our hope is in Jesus and not ourselves. Our peace is in Him; not as the world gives peace, but perfect peace that passes all understanding. We have passed from death unto life, and our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In Him we live, and move, and have our being—we are children of God.
Heart; be not troubled. Mind; cease your trying to figure out every little detail of God’s love. Soul; just accept Him. Receive the Lord by faith and turn from your worldly ways, and God’s Spirit will take up residence in your heart. You will walk a new walk and talk a new talk. That which your soul was seeking, you have found.
When you say yes to Jesus, the thirsting inside you is finally quenched, and that gnawing, hungry feeling in the pit of your stomach subsides. The aching in your heart ceases, and you are set free to soar to great heights as an eagle in flight.
You no longer stand in your own righteousness and strength, because you now understand that redemption only comes through the shed blood of Jesus, when He endured the cross and died for your sins; giving life to you.
Because of Him you no longer worry or fret about tomorrow, for you know who holds tomorrow in His hands. You walk in victory, because your steps are blessed and ordered of God wherever the soles of your feet trod. Your heart rejoices for you have been set free and made perfect in love.
(1 John 4:17-19), “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” vs.18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” vs.19 “We love Him because He first loved us.”
(Psalm 37:23-24), “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” vs.24 “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
