Shoes

I could walk anywhere, with my wife at my side,
We are strength to each other, we walk the same stride.

Each desire we share, our dreams they are one,
As we follow the leading, of Gods only Son.

We see up ahead, the path leads us straight,
To the dreams we have shared, God is never late.

A short distance away, in the path something lies,
Shoes worn by some others, are they our size?

Worn, scuffed, and tattered, for God’s work was spent,
Now empty and vacant, they were only lent.

We heard Jesus speaking, with tenderness and love,
These shoes are for you, they came from above.

So we placed our bare feet, in the shoes left behind,
And to our amazement, they fit us just fine.

God spoke again softly, you two have I beckoned,
Just be your own selves, and never feel second.

We looked at the shoes, we now wore with pride,
And saw them restored, like brand-new then we cried.

God opened our eyes, others we cannot be,
He will make all things new, great things we shall see.

So onward we walked, with my mate at my side,
Knowing Jesus is leading, He will always abide.
