Reading, writing & arithmetic are the basics of learning. They provide a firm foundation for success in life. I always enjoyed working math problems in school, which helped me in my business.
In my line of work as a general building contractor, math has always been an important part of my successful business; providing answers that enabled me to design and build structurally sound buildings.
The expression, ‘Do the math,’ has followed me through life. When calculations or measurements were needed, I did them. I felt confident in my answers. Seldom did I rely on others to do the math. Answers had to be dependable and right. I always believed that experience and qualified abilities provide correct answers, along with the philosophy of measure twice; cut once.
Whether working through design problems, balancing company books, or just trying to find the sum of important numbers, occasionally they just didn’t add up. But to look the other way and say the results didn’t matter was unconscionable. Close was not acceptable to me. It had to be right.
Errors will ultimately affect the final outcome of any equation. Every number must be uncompromised, because wrong answers can result in the failure of structures. Bottom line figures must be accurate, which affect results. An accurate balance sheet, for example, requires correct and honest data, which is important to the success of any business.
Failure to consider the ‘bottom line’ not only affects our self respect, but our responsibility to others. We fool ourselves if we try to make intelligent and sound decisions without having all the facts and figures add up. Wrong decisions usually produce devastating and reprehensible results.
A point to consider is this. Why do people, in general, refuse to do the math when it pertains to God and the things of God? Why do they not take time to list, and with a critical eye evaluate the wonderful facts that God provides. I am persuaded that by adding up these facts, individuals will have the right answer for life. With right answers, right decisions can be made, thus, living an abundant life without fear.
It is disconcerting that anyone would accept risk rather than perfection, for answers in their lives. These people can only hope that the answer from a mediocre source is the right one, whereas, God is the reliable source for the correct answers in life.
The Bible provides accurate information and data to help people make right decisions. The success of any life is dependent upon accuracy. When you do the math with God’s figures, the answer comes out right. The balance sheet of salvation always adds up to perfection through Jesus Christ.
Our nation needs to get back to the basics; the Father Son & Holy Spirit. They provide the firm foundation for success in life. Do the math! Without them, a correct analysis is impossible to achieve. But with the Trinity giving input of positive truth, everything adds up correctly. 3 + 1 = Abundant Living
