There is one thing I’ve been good at doing; worrying about things that may never happen. I am very analytical and see through things before they materialize into something bad. I call it my sixth sense. My intuition and sensitivity to dangers and potential problems go beyond the normal range of awareness. Sometimes it’s good, other times I just worry and fret for nothing.
As I grow and mature in my relationship with God, I am becoming more relaxed as I trust His power to intervene. To worry and fret is like saying, “I refuse to trust God with my affairs!” Worry is the lack of faith in a living God who loves us beyond our own ability to love.
God goes before all Believers that put their trust in Him. Our paths are made straight as we walk by faith. If God is concerned of the sparrow that falls, how much greater is His love for His children? (Psalm 37:23-26) “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” v.24 “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” v.25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” v.26 “He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed.”
God is our Heavenly Father. If I, being a father, am willing to give my children the things they have need of, and love them with all that is within me, what greater love will God bestow upon you and me when we cry, “Abba Father!” It’s like saying, “Daddy!”
If a person is having a problem relaxing and trusting God with their relationships, associations and dealings with others, the answer is to study God's Word. Reading the Bible allows faith to spring up like a fountain of living water. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans ).
It takes faith to trust God for our needs. As we relax and trust, worry and fret dissipate, because of the confidence that faith produces. Believing in God to meet our every need is the bond that cements a Father/child relationship together. God desires that we trust Him. As we allow faith to become active, it enables us to relax and enjoy living, while peace and contentment become a reality.
