The Hope That Never Fails

My thoughts are becoming more focused as I consider what to write next—something that I hope will encourage you in some way.

I carry a few cards in my wallet with my blog address printed on them.  Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I hand one out, hoping the person who receives it will visit my blog and be blessed by what they read.  At the top of the card are the words, THOUGHTS FOR TODAY, and at the bottom, Writings of Hope.  Today I will focus on the word: hope.

First, I would like to share my blog address with you:

www.wordsfrompapa.blogspot.com

I believe you will find words of hope there—hope that is needed now more than ever.  The central theme of most of my writings is: Jesus Christ, the Hope of the world.

If you have tried everything and still cannot find the peace your heart longs for, I encourage you to turn to Jesus.  He cares deeply for you and desires to be your faithful Friend, the One who “sticks closer than a brother.”

The Scriptures invite us to taste and see that the Lord is good.  Those who surrender their hearts to Him discover the immeasurable blessings of His agape love.  Jesus said in Luke 6:38:

“Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Giving ourselves completely to the Lord is the greatest investment we will ever make.

When I came to know the Lord several years ago, I experienced a peace so profound that words can scarcely describe it.  The apostle Paul expressed it perfectly in Philippians 4:7:

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I share this hope with you because I know it is real through personal experience.  God filled my heart to overflowing with His peace—the peace that comes through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace—when He forgave my sins and came into my life.

God shows no favoritism.  What He has done for me, He is willing to do for you.

Jesus, and He alone, is the hope of humanity.  No person, philosophy, or earthly pursuit can provide the gift of eternal life.  That gift is found only in Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead for the sins of all mankind.

My prayer is that you will come to know Him personally and discover the same hope, peace, and everlasting love that He has so graciously given to me.

Papa Boyd
