Descendants of the Sin Nature

The Bible teaches that sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve.  This account was recorded in the 3rd chapter of Genesis in the Old Testament.

Adam and Eve were perfect in the eyes of God, because He was pleased with His creation.  They ruled over all living things and were subject to God alone.  As long as they obeyed Him in a committed relationship, the Garden of Eden was their habitat.  The ease in which they interacted with each other and God flourished.

It wasn’t until Satan entered the picture, deceiving Eve, that sin was born.  Eve fell for the lies that the serpent told her and disobeyed God’s warning to not eat of the tree in the midst of the garden.  She then gave Adam to eat of the forbidden fruit, which caused the separation between them and God, because of their sin.

When God confronted them, they refused to take responsibility for their actions.  Eve blamed the serpent and Adam blamed Eve.  Does this sound familiar?  Just listen to the evening news on television as they interview seasoned criminals, child molesters and the degenerates of our society.  They blame everyone under the sun for their life of crime except themselves.

All of humanity are descendants of Adam and Eve; having a sin nature.  This nature shows up in early adolescence.  We are all born with it.  The sin nature of Adam and Eve is visited down through generation to generation to us.  It’s the Adamic nature of mankind.  No-one is exempt.  The Bible says in (Romans ), “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”  We are born into a gene-pool of corruption.  Not a single person is born without guile in their bones to commit sin, except Jesus.  He is perfection incarnated.

Because of a perfect life, refusing to sin, Jesus provides the means of being reunited with God the Father.  There is no other way to associate ourselves with God except through Jesus, God’s only begotten son.  He spans the unsurpassable gap between man and God that disobedience created.  Accepting Him as Lord brings harmony and togetherness once again.

People around the world are attempting to make it back to the basics of peace through their own efforts.  They are without hope, because they want the pleasures and supremacy of the Garden of Eden without submitting themselves to Jehovah God.  They are eternally lost without God’s fellowship, as it was in the garden after Adam and Eve sinned.

The world’s populace is going about their search for contentment in all the wrong ways.  Their efforts are in vain, because good works, self righteousness, false gods, and religiosity cannot achieve the goal.  Only an encounter with Jesus Christ, the Way, Truth and Life, can they achieve the peace they are searching for.  Fellowship with God comes through Jesus and no-one else.

Descendents of the sin nature can step into a new blood-line, because of the shed blood of Jesus.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  v.17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved,” (John , 17).  Jesus gave His life to reunite His Father with sinful man.  God and man can again commune as they did prior to the fall of Adam and Eve.

The new life in Jesus Christ brings back the beauty of a Garden of Eden experience where personal relationships with loved ones and God can flourish.  Peace and harmony are enjoyed in the perfection of God’s presence as it once was.  It’s called being born again.
