Stop and Listen

What part of STOP do we not understand?  When the Holy Spirit tells us to STOP what we are doing or what we are about to do, why can’t we grasp the real meaning of the word and obey His warning?  The protection He offers is for our personal wellbeing, and is far greater than anything we can improvise.  His love exceeds our emotional baggage and unconventional behavior.

The four letters in the word STOP can mean anything a person wants them to mean.  As for me they represent, “Sin Takes Our Peace,” “Stubbornness Thwarts Optimum Protection” and “Stay True Or Perish.”

You may ask, “Stay true to what?”  When a Christian stays true to God’s commandments, they live a life of peace.  Sin steals this peace when Believers STOP listening to the Holy Spirit.  (Revelation 2:29)  “He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

The end result of a non-compliant, stubborn nature is the soul will perish into everlasting darkness, separated from God the Righteous, forever and ever.  But when we STOP our selfish rebellion against God and listen to the Spirit’s voice of reason, our soul takes a different direction.  God’s peace smoothes out the rough road ahead and straightens the curves that disobedience causes.

Contentment is the result of a dedicated relationship with God the Father.  The born-again experience, through Jesus Christ, brings satisfaction to the heart.  No longer is there a threat of separation from God now that the choice to STOP sinning has been made.

JESUS + OBEDIENCE = PEACE

Standing Together Obeying Purity” Jesus is this purity.
