If you were to ask me what I thought the two most important things in life should be, I would have to respond by saying, “Faith in God and remaining faithful to Him.” (Hebrews 11:6), “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Faith goes hand in hand with faithfulness. We must work at maintaining faith, while sustaining faithfulness.
(James 2:17-20), “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” v.18 “But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works’. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” v.19 “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! v.20 “But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?”
Just because former presidents of the United States practiced infidelity does not give us free reign to do likewise. And just because certain men of the cloth find it difficult to abstain from promiscuous behavior and ungodly acts with children does not sanction like-rebellion against God and His statutes for you and me. Faithfulness is the action needed that fends off profane change in the children of God.
Even though people in society are falling farther and farther away from the truth of God’s Word, it does not mean that God is changing His mind regarding sin. People change—God doesn’t. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. His Word never changes even though books have been written to water down, discredit and nullify the truth of the Bible. It has stood the test of time; standing untarnished and pure.
To show God our love we must always keep His commandments and remain faithful. Being a part-time Christian on Sunday, while justifying sinful actions the rest of the week is unacceptable conduct, unbecoming a Christian. God frowns on such behavior. Either we are Born-again-Believers or we are not.
(Revelation 3:15, 16), “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.” v.16 “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
Did Jesus serve God on a part-time basis; becoming just one of the guys in His leisure hours? Absolutely not! His very nature is purity; without blemish or ill repute. His obedience and allegiance to God is perfection without compromise. His love for mankind echoes God’s love, even unto death. How can we be anything less that the personage of Jesus Christ if we bear His name; Christian? The word Christian means to be Christ-like.
The one change that God does love is when people change their way of living to serve the Lord. But changing with society’s varying life styles is an abomination to Him.
Jesus is the Savior of mankind today, but one day He will be their judge. People need to change their ways and accept Jesus as Lord, while there is yet time. This change is acceptable to God and welcomed.
There is coming a day when Jesus will return in clouds of glory to receive His Bride, the Church, unto Himself, because the Lord promised that He would do so. God will not change His mind concerning the requirement for entering heaven. A person must be born-again through the acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Man’s requirements are always changing; depending upon feelings, what seems right, and what requirements they think will get them into heaven. People change—God doesn’t. There is only one way to heaven.
(John 14:6), “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ ”
