I'm a Child of the King

When I look into the sky on a clear, summer’s night, I marvel at the wonder of God’s creation.  The vastness of space is mind boggling, especially when considering how large our own galaxy is in comparison to how many other galaxies that man’s eyes have not seen.  No-one knows how many galaxies are beyond our Milky Way, only that God spoke creation into existence.

I sometimes feel insignificant when comparing myself with all that God has created.  The Bible tells us that we are made in God’s image and that we are important to Him.  He loves us beyond measure.

(Genesis 1:27) “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

If we could measure God’s love like a child measures love with two arms outstretched as wide as possible at each side, God’s love would extend beyond the outer most reaches of space.

The millions upon millions of light years that space is measured by is only the beginning of God’s love for us.  His love is infinite.  All He asks of us is to love Him through keeping His commandments and loving our neighbor as our self.  This should be an easy task considering the depth, breadth and height of God’s love for us.

He knows our name and every detail of our existence.  Even the hairs on our head are numbered.  How can we reject or neglect such love and go our own rebellious way to seek counterfeit gratification elsewhere?  Self-will is the problem.  God grants us freedom of choice.  He does not impose Himself on anyone.

(Luke 12:7), “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not therefore:  ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

God sent His son to give His life that we might have life more abundantly.  Jesus said in (John 10:9-10), “I am the door.  If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.  v.10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Where is our gratitude and thanks for this unmerited love?  We need to fall on our face before God and repent of selfish pride and bad attitudes.  This rebellious generation must ask God for forgiveness of sin before judgment day comes.  It will be too late to repent after life passes from this flesh.

God created the universe, every living creature and all of nature for our enjoyment and wellbeing.  Did He not bless us with five senses to appreciate all that He created?  Why then do we not accept Him for who He is, instead of relying on self?  I believe the answer is pride.  The Adam nature in us wants to sit on the thrown of our own making; be it power or infamy.  A defiant character strives to become a god without having to answer to a higher power.

Many people think that God is unconcerned when they face trials and tribulations.  They are foolish in their thinking.  It is ridicules to feel that God has abandoned us in times of need.  It is against His nature to reject our cry for help when we are praying according to His will.  God loves us!  But He does reject proud and self-willed people that seek the platform of Godless anarchy.  God help them!

The Bible says in (Hebrews 13:5) that God will never leave nor forsake us.   When are we going to get it through our head that (John 3:16) is meant for us, personally?

(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We are the ‘whoever’!  Of all creation, humanity is God’s number one priority and joy.  His concern and love for us was shown at Calvary.  Knowing that God’s eye is on the sparrow and is concerned when one falls assures us that His love is even greater for you and me.  When we talk to God we can know beyond a doubt that He hears us and will supply our needs.

(Philippians 4:19), “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

We need to stop acting like second class outcasts or rebellious vagabonds, and realize who we can be in Christ.  When we accept Jesus as Lord of our life, God becomes our Heavenly Father, and we His children.  He is then responsible to meet our needs, because of passionate love for us.  We need not take a backseat to anyone or anything.  His royal blood flows through our veins.  We can say with assurance, “I’m a child of the King,” because of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
