Prism Refraction

I remember my first science project in grade school, science class, using a prism having three distinct sides.  Because of its triangular shape and each side working together with the other two sides, through refraction, the magnificence of all the colors that was manifested when a beam of light was introduced to one side of the prism was beauty at its highest, unbelievable presentation.  The experience was amazing to my young eyes and inquisitive mind that had never seen such a display as this.

The prism broke down the spectrum of light, revealing a rainbow of colors that were in that single beam of white light…red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Just as the prism revealed the inner beauty of the beam of light, that which shines forth from children of God is the beauty of God’s essence; the many attributes of the true light, whom Jesus is.  Christians are like prisms to a world of inquisitive minds that have never seen the beauty of God’s son; the bright and morning star.

There are three distinct members of the Godhead; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Three persons, yet one entity working together with each other to show beauty to a world that sees only ugliness around them.

As a Christian becomes God’s prism and allows His light to shine through them, the eyes of searching souls are opened to the beauty of the light, causing them to desire the light; He who is the light.

Christians are not the light, just as prisms are not the light, but only instruments that reveal the essence of the light…love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.  (Galatians 5:22, 23)

When a prism does the work that it was made to do, not only will beauty continue to shine forth in science classes throughout the land, students in a world that have never seen God’s rainbow of beauty through Jesus Christ will now see, because of refraction.
