It is a crime to watch people do wrong things and say nothing to help them overcome the error of their ways. Turning a blind eye is as bad as performing the deed ourselves. To know someone is committing an unlawful act and not reporting them to the proper authorities is like being an accomplice after the fact; a partner in crime. In my opinion they are as guilty as the one doing the act.
For reasons known only to them, they are content not involving themselves in the lives of others. Even though they are aware of someone living on the edge, their philosophy is “live and let live”. What a cop-out!
To have the knowledge that a person is about to make a mistake, yet maintain the attitude, see no evil; speak no evil; hear no evil; is a crime! To know a person is headed for a fall and not take an interest in helping them steer clear of the potential catastrophe in their life is indeed a crime.
We all need direction and help at some point in time. It is the law of averages, because we are human and subject to miserable failures. Where would I be today were it not for someone that cared enough to point me in the right direction?
Are we not our brother’s keeper? I believe in some cases we are. If we know that a person is headed for hell, because of their lifestyle, it is our obligation and duty to tell them about Jesus. Anything less is a crime.
How many times has God brought certain individuals our way that needed spiritual guidance and all we talked about was everything under the sun except the one that could change their life for eternity? It is a crime, and I am afraid that God may hold us accountable for our lack of sensitivity and irresponsible behavior for not sharing the good news that Jesus Christ died on a cross for their sins.
The message is life; whereas, Christians are God’s mouthpiece. The Lord draws souls that are searching for contentment, by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is up to every Christian to do their part. Neighbors are looking for answers; they need the truth. We have the truth that will set them free if only this truth is shared. When we are willing to present God’s good news, He will make opportunities to witness, while preparing hearts to receive the message that Jesus Christ died for their sins.
People everywhere are hungering and thirsting after something that brings peace to their wondering soul. They know something is missing inside them, because of the unhappiness they live with, but they don’t know how to find it. It is a crime to watch them continue down the wide road to destruction when we possess the knowledge of truth that will set them free from bondage.
It is a crime to watch family members, friends and neighbors struggle, because of a notion or fear that they will reject our efforts to help. Their soul is more important to God than our feelings. I don’t know why people are so closed minded and closed mouth to witness for Christ, unless it is the fear of being spurned, rejected or put down for their beliefs.
There may be feelings that their involvement and suggestions are unwanted, because the person in need has not solicited their help. On the contrary; you will find their soul is ready for a change; waiting for someone to care enough to speak up for what’s right. Let us give them Jesus before it is too late!
The life we save may be our own blood. Start with family members; followed by friends, neighbors and co-workers. It is a crime to watch them perish without Christ when we have the words of life within us. A crime will be diverted when we take the time to care and share God’s love.
