Children typically think their father can do anything, especially the, “My dad can beat up your dad!” kind of confidence. Hopefully their home life is a place of peaceful refuge and solace, rather than a habitat of abuse and cruelty. Innocent children deserve to be loved and cherished, though many are not. It goes without saying that tenderness produces intimacy and love, whereas, the lack of it can breed contempt and hatred.
There is a line that separates good from evil, like a line drawn in the sand and the dare to step over it. This line, depending on what side a person stands, enables peace to reign or turmoil to fester. Children across the land have little to say regarding the environment in which they live. It’s not up to them; it’s up to the parents.
Statistics show children that are abused in early development and adolescence often treat their offspring in like manner. Abuse repeats itself over and over again, from generation to generation. But change is possible depending upon the kind of help one receives.
If the abused person halts the negative experiences that were passed down to them from parent to child, it stops the horrific, abuse cycle. When an abuser recognizes what side of the line they are standing on and then does something about the problem, this is the beginning of wisdom and deliverance.
Abuse and sin may be a child’s environment where love is seldom experienced. The lack of a peaceful home can dramatically affect their actions toward others as adults. God invites hurting souls to partake in His grace, which is free for the asking. Refuge is found in a man called Jesus.
When people allow God to bring secrets to the surface of their understanding that are hidden behind closed doors, in the darkness of sin, He enables them to step across the line into the light of His love where peaceful refuge is found. God welcomes each person to this place of sanctuary where Jesus Christ resides.
God brings complete deliverance once the steps of realization and surrender have taken place. He reveals sin in the light of truth rather than allowing it to fester and remain hidden in darkness. It’s at this moment that victory reveals itself and a new life begins.
The God of peace becomes Father God. A new journey begins in a relationship that produces confidence never experienced here-to-fore. The tenderness and love that God bestows upon those that repent of sin teaches them to believe in His strength, which defeats any attempt of Satan to harm or lead them astray. Jesus becomes the peaceful refuge for the soul that was abused by sin. Won’t you step across the line and seek God’s refuge? The choice is yours to make.
